Hey everyone! We’re recruiting interest for our next clubwide project where students will team up with student musicians to create music/lyric videos for an original song of their choice.
This year we’re expanding into animation/animatics and motion graphics to create these videos, but there’s also an option to do traditional filming too, all up to the creative vision. It’s a great way for animators to work on a fun project that we will release on our Youtube channel!
If you’re interested in participating, please email tutv.studios@gmail.com !

Get to know your TUTV fall e-board! Meet this semester's Station Manager, Martina Tan.
Martina is a fifth-year majoring in Studio Art and Cognitive Brain Science, with a minor in Computer Science. As someone who spent a lot of time assisting her high school's theatre program and morning show back in Mount Laurel, New Jersey, it was inevitable that Martina would find her way to TUTV. Since becoming a member in her first year she has carried a variety of roles at TUTV, starting as publicity chair for Tufts Unplugged and arriving at the present day as Station Manager (whoa)!
Some of Martina’s interests include knowing about movies but not ever watching them, the way birds look, & human-computer interaction. She cares a lot about being critical of her favorite shows and films, and about proper representation of diverse experiences in media. She also really enjoys helping people, and is currently serving as Vice President of the Student Government Association at the SMFA. Ask her anything & she’ll do her best to point you in the right direction!
You can reach Martina at martina.tan@tufts.edu, on instagram @lewisdelmart, or on Facebook @martinaaaaat. Learn more about her and the other board members over at http://www.tuftstv.com/meet-the-board.
Get to know your TUTV fall e-board! Meet this semester's Programming Manager, Kunaal Bhargava.
Kunaal is a senior majoring in Computer Science with minors in Entrepreneurship and Biotechnology. As someone who once made a Pokemon gaming channel with his friends back in sixth grade, Kunaal has always enjoyed film productions, especially with coming up with new stories and video ideas. Kunaal has previously worked on a range of TUTV projects, including but not limited to Lover’s Quarrel, multiple Horror Fest productions, Caged Animals, MTUTV, and multiple Shot Through the Heart productions.
Other than TUTV, Kunaal’s other interests include watching apathetically as his favorite football club, FC Barcelona, continue to prove there is an even lower point than rock bottom, winning at Fall Guys, and convincing himself that this pandemic will end soon. If there are any questions about TUTV feel free to reach out to Kunaal or any of the other amazing TUTV members.
You can reach out to him through email on Kunaal.Bhargava@tufts.edu, through Facebook messenger, or somehow through his Nintendo Online Account. Learn more about him and the other board members over at http://www.tuftstv.com/meet-the-board.
Get to know your TUTV fall e-board! Meet this year's Treasurer, John "JJ" Stewart.
JJ is a junior, double majoring in Computer Science and Film and Media Studies, and has been in love with film since he was a kid, making Minecraft videos in his basement in New Jersey. He is extremely excited for another year of filmmaking shenanigans through TUTV, having joined his freshman fall semester, and served as Head of News last semester. He has previously worked on a few TUTV projects, including HorrorFest, Pocket Docs, The Athena Project, and Strange New World. Currently, he is serving as the project head for QUEST and is editing Caged Animals.
TUTV has become an extremely important creative outlet and community during JJ’s time at Tufts, and he’s ready to continue helping other members find the joy he has in TUTV! If you want to talk about anything film, whether it’s how to format a script, advice on leading a TUTV project, or the reasons why Schitt’s Creek on Pop TV is a cultural reset, JJ is happy to help! JJ is also involved with the Tisch DDS, Major: Undecided Sketch Comedy, and the children’s theatre group Traveling Treasure TRUNK, if you are curious about those clubs.
You can reach JJ via Instagram at @jsquared456, email at john.stewart615472@tufts.edu, and Twitter at @jjstewart768. Learn more about JJ and the other board members over at http://www.tuftstv.com/meet-the-board.
Get to know your TUTV fall e-board! Meet this year's Head of Music, Kayla Avitabile.
Kayla is a junior majoring in Film & Media Studies and American Studies. She also hails from New Jersey, but considers Tufts her home. She joined TUTV the fall of her freshman year due to her FMS 30 TA (and former TUTV station manager)’s consistent persuasion. Since then she’s joined in on many club projects, including heading a music-interview project in collaboration with Melisma Magazine and Applejam Productions. She has found a strong sense of community and friendship in TUTV and loves the atmosphere it creates for artistic expression.
In her free time, Kayla loves to chill in her bed and take buzzfeed quizzes, watch some cheesy and some not so cheesy flicks, and write angsty songs. She has performed as a singer songwriter since she was 13 and needless to say, she loves music. Dare I say . . . it’s her life. She is excited to expand the Music section of TUTV and work on another season of Tufts Unplugged! Kayla is also a writer and editor for Melisma Magazine and a DJ for WMFO (shocker that all the clubs she’s involved in are concerned with music!)
You can reach Kayla at kaylaavitabile@gmail.com to talk about anything TUTV or music! Learn more about her and the other board members over at http://www.tuftstv.com/meet-the-board.
Get to know your TUTV fall e-board! Meet this semester's Head of News, Kevin Gao.
Kevin is a sophomore from Concord MA looking to major in CS, Quant Econ, and Math, who loves to make videos about whatever inspires him at the moment. Whether it’s silent short films, Overwatch roster reveals, or even let’s plays with friends, he tries to make the most of his spontaneous ideas, and TUTV has been an amazing place to explore that passion.
Even after just finishing an episode or movie, Kevin can’t help but rewatch his favorite moments again to relive the experience. He watches a variety of shows, but takes particular interest in the depiction and interpretation of futuristic technologies. He is also excited to see how filmmaking and video games will continue to come together to make immersive experiences like never before.
Message Kevin about anything on Discord Hawk#5366
or email @ kevin.gao@tufts.edu. Learn more about him and the other board members over at http://www.tuftstv.com/meet-the-board.
